Sri Sri Ravi Shankar started this wonderful initiative under the banner of I Vote For A Better India to survey Indians using a 'Happiness Survey’.

“The aim is not to tell people who to vote for but educate and inspire to vote,” it says.
The Happiness Survey was also conducted in Belgaum. Karnataka under the guidance of Dr.Deepali Patil and Ignatius D'Souza, the Art Of Living teachers. Thousand of people filled the survey.
'Are you happy in life?' The first question which is asked in the survey but it soon moves to ones on national issues like voting preferences, economic status of the country, etc.

Campaign objectives
- Increase voter awareness regarding the importance of voting
- Increase voter registration by registering 50%-65% of the unregistered voters before January 31, 2014
- 50-80 million new voters / ~0.9-1.5 lakh voters per Parliamentary Constituency
- Clean the electoral rolls to reduce bogus voting by ~ 50-80 million
- Increase voting turnout by more than 20% (including cleaning the electoral rolls)
